HARDWARE/ SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
This software is designed for use on an IBM PC, PS/2 and compatible computers with 10 Mbytes hard disk space, 32 Mbytes RAM.
Super VGA monitor or better
The operating system must be Microsoft Windows98 (or later version of MS-Windows).
The computer must have a serial communication port to connect to a repeater and be compatible with an IBM asynchronous communications adapter. You can select one port from COM1 to COM20 on the computer.
Use a Kenwood KPG-46 programming cable to connect the computer to the repeater. A commercially-available DB-25 male to DB-9 female adapter may be needed depending on the port configuration of your computer.
B. CONNECTING THE EQUIPMENT
1. Switch OFF the power to the computer.
2. Connect the 25-pin connector on the KPG-46 cable to one port from COM1 to COM20 on the computer. If the computer's COM port has 9 pins, use the DB-25M to DB-9F adapter.
3. Switch ON the power to the computer.
4. Power OFF the repeater.
5. Connect the other end of the KPG-46 cable to the universal connector on the repeater.
6. Power ON the repeater.
C. Read Data from Radio:
Connect the KPG-46 programming cable to the repeater and to the computer. All program data from the repeater's flash memory will be read into the computer and displayed in KPG-47D. Progress of the download is shown on the bargraph on the window.
D. Write Data to Radio:
Connect the KPG-46 programming cable to the repeater and to the computer. All program data in KPG-47D on the computer will be written into the repeater's flash memory. Progress of the upload is shown on the bargraph on the window.
